Measuring
It is important to measure the roller blind accurately, to ensure the pricing quoted tot he customer is correct.
Measuring Face Fit Roller Blinds
-
Width is the exact measurement taken from the top of the window frame across
-
Drop is taken from the top of the window frame and measured down to where you would like the blind to finish. i.e 50mm below the frame.
-
It is recommended the blind overlaps the window by at least 50mm to 100mm on each edge depending on the space you have. If you have an architrave we recommend measuring from outside of the architrave to outside of the architrave.
Measuring Roller Blinds - Reveal Fit
-
Ensure there is at least 80mm depth in the reveal - so the blind sits flush
-
Width is the exact inside width of the frame. Measure in 3 spots top, middle, bottom and select the smallest one to ensure the blind fits inside the recess.
-
Drop is the exact measurement of the window frame from top to bottom
Obstructions When Measuring Roller Blinds
Obstructions generally affect blinds sitting inside the frame. Blinds may not close smoothly if window openers, handles and other parts of the window frame jut out, or if you have skirting boards or tiles that wrap inside your frame. For most obstructions, a front roller blind in the reveal or a change to a face fit is going to be the best option.
Below is a list of the general obstructions:
-
Door handles
-
Window winders
-
Skirting boards
-
Cupboards that may open into the blind
