Roll Direction
Roll direction refers to the direction the roller blind fabric is rolled. This is referring to the way or direction in which the fabric of the roller blind comes off the roll; over the top of the roll so that there’s a gap the width of the tube between the fabric and the glass, or underneath the roll so that the fabric lies as close to the window as possible without adding the distance added by the width of the roll itself.
Back Roll
This is where the fabric is rolled towards the window and away from the room. It minimises light gaps on the sides of the roller due to the minimal projection required. It keeps the fabric as close to the window in both a reveal window mount and a face window mount.
-
Provides the best heat and light reflection
-
Minimal light gaps
-
Increased privacy as fabric is closer to the glass
- Easily impeded by obstructions such as sliding doors, awnings & window winders
Front Roll
Front rolling a roller blind is ideal for a customer who doesn’t want to see the roll at the top of their window. The fabric rolls from the front of the tube hiding the tube. When mounted on a face fitting (architrave or square set) window it will have much larger gaps because the fabric is further from the wall.
- Ideal when needing to avoid obstructions on the window such as door handles, awnings, window winders.
- Hides the tube
- Nice aesthetic when raised
- Larger lightgap than backroll
